  1. Alarm Information

    If you have an alarm in your home or business, and this alarm alerts our agency directly or through the county Police Department, 911 center, or through a private monitoring agency, which in turn contacts our department to respond, the alarm must be registered with the City of La Porte.

    To register your alarm you must come to the La Porte Police Department on any day Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The below information is needed, along with the name of your alarm supplier. There is a one-time fee of $10 for residences and $25 for businesses. Copies of the ordinance covering this are available at the La Porte Police Department upon request.

    Please be advised that this ordinance also includes fines on a graduated scale for false alarms and failing to register.
