●Did you ever think you could “gallery hop” in downtown La Porte? Well this weekend is your chance! Over 25 local and regional artists are the highlight of the 2^nd Saturday event August 13^th, from 5 to 8 in the evening. Participating business become galleries for the night and will host a wide variety of visual artists and musical talent, free of charge.

●The Thaddeus C. Gallery announces the homecoming of La Porte native son and sculptor Daniel Edwards in an exhibit held through the month of August. Edwards, who has previously shown his portrait of Oprah Winfrey as an Egyptian queen at the gallery, brings a sneak preview of his forthcoming work, teen heartthrob Justin Bieber. Also on view will be sculptures by another La Porte native, Tom Kaminski, and henna painting by Michigan artist Dave Wilkinson. ●Kessler Lofts Underground Basement Gallery Space will exhibit the art of multiple members of the Land of Lakes Art Alliance. Included are works by Mary Campbell, Janet Evans, Alice Fitzwater, Don Grott, Bruce Johnson, Mary Ketchmark, Laura Krentz, Rita Marlow, Dave Russel, and Ted Turner. ●Clinton Worthington of Worthington Art Studio will be performing a live painting demo. ●Temple News Agency will have Caricature artist Dave Russell offering his talents, a photography exhibit of local artists, and live music from the New La Porte Drifters. ●Wilson’s Barber Shop will host local artist Amanda Jozaitis. The exhibit is entitled “ Familiar Elements” a series of abstract representations of La Porte using printmaking techniques. ●The La Porte Library will feature works by Leticia Bernal (hispanic art) ●Carl Banas (woodworking), Heather Banas (handmade soaps), Ed Wedow (metal work), and Trisha Baczkiewicz (jewelry). Works by Edwin Shelton, Clinton Worthington and Lee Baughman will also be on display and Little Chocolates will be giving out free samples! ●The Lunch Box will feature Paintings and Photography created by both the staff and family members of the shop. Jack Allen, co-owner of The Vintage Rose, will be demonstrating his stain glass art and Goose Feathers will highlight many artists work that they frequently show in their shop.
