Festivals and Special Events

WinterFest 2020 - January 24-26

  
Join us for a blast of winter fun! Events for the festival include Ice Sculpture Demonstrations, Family Game Night, Family Ceramics, "Snowball" Softball Tournament, Breakfast with the Birds, Community Snow Angel Gathering, Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Barre Class, Wheel Throwing Pottery demonstration (with an opportunity to try out the wheel), and a NEW Cornhole Tournament.  Visit our WinterFest page for more information There really is something for everyone!  Follow us on FaceBook and Instagram for up-to-the-minute information during WinterFest.


Night Bike Rides - 2019

The La Porte Night Bicycle Rides will take you on a leisurely  13-mile starlit bike ride of La Porte. We are excited to offer three night bike ride events again this year! The dates and La Porte locations are as follows: June 21 (Kiwanis-Teledyne Park, 1208 Pine Lake Avenue), July 19 (Beechwood Golf Course, 2222 Woodlawn Drive) and August 16 (Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge Street).  Check in time is at 8 p.m. with the ride beginning promptly at 9 p.m. Please note these are NOT  races. All participants must wear a helmet and have a headlight and taillight on their bike. Participants under the age of 10 years old must be accompanied and ride with an adult, either pull behind or tandem and require their own registration. Cost for each ride event is $20 per person ($25 night of ride) and includes post-race snacks and a t-shirt if registered a week prior to the event or until supply is gone.  Register at the Park Office (250 Pine Lake Avenue) or on-line at the link below.

Cookies with Santa - 2019


    We are excited to announce the Cookies with Santa event!  Join us as we begin the holiday countdown on Saturday, December 14, from 1-3 p.m. at Cummings Lodge in Soldiers Memorial Park.  The event includes punch, cookies, crafts, and even a photo with the guy in the red suit!  The $5 pre-registration fee is required by December 6. Space is limited so register early!
