Ceramics If you are looking for a fun, creative outlet, try one of our ceramic classes. It provides a great way to get away and meet friends, all while making some unique projects for yourself or gifts for others. Class meets from 9:30 a.m.-noon, 1-3:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays and from 1-3:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Civic Auditorium. For preschoolers ages 2 and older, this class is a fun way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy and communicate feelings. It provides children with opportunities for non-competitive success and creative experiences. Through movement, children learn about their bodies, the space around them and each other. Learn the fundamentals of photography and how to get the most out of your camera. Learn in a fascinating and fun way to become informed and inspired. For both digital and film cameras (must provide own camera and film). Class held from 6-7:30 Tuesdays at Cummings Lodge. Five-week session begins Nov. 12. Cost is $30.
Learn the art of stained glass, including all of the techniques involved in this beautiful experience. Class sizes are small to ensure individual instruction. Class held from 6-9 p.m. Mondays at Cummings Lodge. Cost is $29 plus $70 for supplies and tools (except glass).
Yoga can help soothe the mind and lower stress levels by focusing the mind on the moment and movements rather than on external distractions. Yoga combines flexibility, strength training and balance to create a mind and body activity that’s a perfect addition to any fitness regimen. Class held from 5-6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 10-11 a.m. Saturdays at Civic Auditorium. Cost is $5 per class (must purchase $25 punch card in advance at Park Office).
Special Classes Santa Cookie Plate
Ceramics instructors from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the Ceramics Room at the Civic Auditorium to paint a plate for the holiday season. Personalize a plate with a family name, child’s name, date or however you would like. The plates make a great gift. The plates will be coated with a clear glaze and fired again to be picked up Nov. 26-27. The class costs just $12, which includes the plate, all materials and firing. Christmas Card If you don’t have your Christmas cards done, let alone started, register for this class from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Park Office. Participants will make four cards each of four different designs, plus a special container to hold them. Cards are not from a kit, as participants will be taught different card making techniques. Christmas Ornament Bring the entire family to our special Ceramics class from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Ceramics Room at the Civic Auditorium.
