Keeping baseball fun is the primary concern of our program. We believe in participation for all, positive competition and building character. We teach fundamentals and traditions of the game, champion sportsmanship and encourage family and community support.
Registration begins with Youth Sports Registration Nights from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, and Thursday, January 17, in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium. Cost is $90 for first child and $80 for each additional child in same household. Registration available beginning January 22 at the Park Office (250 Pine Lake Avenue) or on-line. An additional $20 will be added to registration fee after March 8. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families.
Make checks payable to the La Porte Park and Recreation Department. Visa/Master Card accepted. Please bring the participant's birth certificate along with the appropriate registration fee.

Babe Ruth Baseball (For Boys, Ages 13-15) This is where players get their baseball cleats muddy for the first time on standard 90-foot diamonds. Great program for players wanting to advance their skills or simply keep playing for the joy of the game. Program includes six weeks of preseason practices followed by 12-game schedule and double-elimination tournament. Rally Day will be at noon Saturday, March 23, at the Civic Auditorium. League practices begin March 25, games run early-May through beginning of July.
La Porte Wreckers Travel Program Our La Porte Wreckers program offers part-time travel teams for 15U, 14U and 13U in our Babe Ruth Baseball program. (Age groups are offered depending upon the number of players interested and may be combined). Only participants in the La Porte Park and Recreation Department Babe Ruth Baseball program are eligible for the Wreckers program and must play for their age group as determined by their age on or before April 30, 2019. Fall Baseball (For Boys, Ages 12-14) Our Fall Baseball program prepares players for the next season. Our emphasis will be on instruction and constructive competition as players look to take their games to the next level. Program includes three weeks of preseason practices followed by 10-game schedule and single-elimination tournament. League practices begin July 29, games run late-August through beginning of October.
