To officiate sport league games offered under the Park and Recreation Department’s sponsorship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION: Other duties may be assigned.
• Officiate games according to established standards of conduct for that sport (e.g. basketball, softball, or baseball.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of the rules of the game through personal study and by attendance at rule interpretation meetings.
• Works games or contests as assigned by the immediate supervisor of that program.
• Performs other maintenance duties as directed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Adult Softball Umpires are required to possess a current National Softball Association Umpire’s License.
